Welcome back to my blog,
ladies!
Cleaning our makeup
brushes is as important as cleaning our face. No matter how much we take good
care of our faces, if we are not keen in cleaning the makeup brushes, then it’s
all a waste!
Dirty makeup brushes can cause all kinds of problems from
causing a muddy application to creating breakouts from the built up bacteria. Cleaning
your makeup brushes twice a week will help keep your skin clear, your makeup
looking flawless, and your brushes lasting longer. (But make sure you clean
your foundation brush/beauty blender every single day-if you apply makeup
daily)
p.s. Not gonna deny, I don’t clean them sometimes, Im just
lazy. I know we’re all lazy! Lol!What do we need?
These are the steps that I follow to clean my makeup brushes:
STEP 1: Firstly, wet all your makeup brushes and squirt
some dish washing liquid on a plate, remember, a little bit of it goes a long
way. Now, dip your brush on the liquid and start to rub the brush gently on the
palm of your hand in swirling motion.
STEP 2: Then use the same technique on the silicone face
scrublet. The bumpiness on the scrublet will create friction and scrubs away
all the impurities that are stuck in your brushes and cleanses the brush
thoroughly. Don’t be too harsh as it will ruin the shape of your brushes.
STEP 3: Now,
rinse your brushes under running water until the water runs clear. Gently
squeeze the bristles to remove any excess water.
STEP 4: By now,
your brushes would be stiff and frizzy. So, that’s why we need to condition it.
Massage in some hair conditioner in your brushes and let it sit for a minute,
then rinse it out.
STEP 5: Squeeze
the excess water and gently pat dry your brush on a clean paper tower and dry
it.
*Tips!! The Best Way to Dry your Makeup Brushes:
Hang your brushes upside down (bristles facing the floor) and dry
it indoor. The image shown above shows the effortless way to hang the brushes
using rubber bands.
Do You know?
Drying
your brushes upright, causes the water to run down and gets inside of the
ferrule and weaken the glue that holds your brushes together, which leads to
more shedding in future.
Voila!! Look at these clean brushes! Isn’t it easy to clean them?
:)
