REVIEW: ESSENCE NAIL ART EXPRESS DRY DROPS

Hi loves! How are y’all doing? Well, if you have checked out my last post, where I did a review on Essence Silky Touch Blush, I stated that I purchased few items from Essence and there you go, here’s another review on a nail product from them! If you are a person who hates waiting for your nail polish to dry, then this is for you!

Product: Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops

Price: RM10.90

Quantity: 8ml or 0.27 fl.oz

Shelf life: 30 months

Available at: Watsons or other drugstores

Appearance: It comes in a cute little glass bottle with a white pipette on top. Travel friendly. The drops are clear and kinda feels oily which is a good thing, I’ll explain it why in a second. It has a very mild smell, which is totally bearable. (I’m sorry, I’m bad in describing smell..hihi)

What is says? : Quick drying drops that dry nailpolish within seconds.

Ingredients: CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, HEXAMETHYLDISILOXANE, DIMETHICONE, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE

Directions: Apply 1-2 express dry drops on to your freshly polished nails.

Experience: I hate every single second of my life waiting for my nail polish to dry. True! So, that’s where I found this lil guy! I usually apply 2 drops directly on my nails since it’s a little longer, but if you’ve shorter nails.. Trust me, 1 drop is good to go!

Will you believe me that it only took 50 seconds for my nail polish to dry completely?? But, that’s the truth! If you applied more than 2 coats of nailpolish, then you have to wait longer, about 3-4 minutes. This express dry drop is MAGIC! They work amazingly on anybody!

Finish look of my nails!

Pros:

  • Clear drops
  • Comes in handy dripper
  • Travel friendly
  • Saves much time
  • Drops are a bit oily which moisturize the cuticles (oiliness disappear in seconds)

Cons:

  • Nail polish doesn’t looks smooth on nail, once applied top coat. (gets too thick)

Will I repurchase? Hell yeah!! Certainly will grab 1, once I’m done with this!

REVIEW: ESSENCE SILKY TOUCH BLUSH (AUTUMN PEACH)

Hello ladies! So the other day, My sister and I decided to shop for drugstore makeup products at Watson as they had weekly sales going on! Who doesn't want discounts?! We all know, only 2 things can change a woman’s mood; I love you & 50% discount! Hahah!

We grabbed quite a number of them, you will see them in my upcoming reviews. (I just need some time to try it, so that I can give you my honest opinion). I was actually on the hunt of getting my hands on the Essence’s ombre blush but I don’t think they have it in Malaysia, I’m not sure, correct me if I’m wrong. So I grabbed a different blush from Essence. Scroll down to know if it’s a Yay or Nay..

Product: Essence’s Silky Touch Blush in “Autumn Peach”

Quantity: 5 gm

Price: RM12.90

Available at: Watson’s or any other drugstores.

Appearance: Powder blush with a decent packaging. Very light weight as it’s convenient for travelling. This blush feels so silky and blends like a dream. Slightly shimmery but hardly visible once applied. It has a mild cinnamon smell, but trust me it’s not overpowering at all. The smell fades away really quickly, so no worries.

What it says: Silky soft blush for a fresh looking complexion all day long.

( Apologies, for the tag still attached to the blush, as it will rip off the sticker if I remove it)

Ingredients: TALC, MICA, MAGNESIUM CARBONATE, OCTYLDODECYL STEAROYL STEARATE, ISOSTEARYL NEOPENTANOATE, ZINC STEARATE, ALUMINA, TIN OXIDE, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN, CI 19140 (YELLOW 5 LAKE), CI 15850 (RED 6/RED 7 LAKE), CI 77491, CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

Directions: Apply lightly on cheeks.

My Experience: I have been using this blush for a while now and you know what? I love it! Of all the colors in their collections, this autumn peach is the bomb.com! Loving the color! Even though it’s slightly shimmery, it’s still appropriate for daily wear as it looks very natural on face.

On first application, the blush won’t show up that much because of the shade, but trust me, other shades from this collections are much more pigmented. I wore it on humid weather & it stays up on my face for 4 hours which is quite impressive for a drugstore product. “Autumn peach” suits for all skin shade, as for dark skin beauties, you’ll just have to layer up the blush till you’re satisfied with the color pay off.

Look how pigmented the blush is! It definitely compliments my skin!

Pros:
  • Gives natural finish to skin
  • Lovely shade
  • Blends very well
  • Smooth and silky texture
  • Comes in full size
  • Very affordable

Cons:
  • None!!

-
Will I repurchase? : Definitely!! I’m so in love with this shade, and I would like to try other shades as well.

DIY: HOW I CLEAN MY MAKEUP BRUSHES

Welcome back to my blog, ladies!

Cleaning our makeup brushes is as important as cleaning our face. No matter how much we take good care of our faces, if we are not keen in cleaning the makeup brushes, then it’s all a waste!

Dirty makeup brushes can cause all kinds of problems from causing a muddy application to creating breakouts from the built up bacteria. Cleaning your makeup brushes twice a week will help keep your skin clear, your makeup looking flawless, and your brushes lasting longer. (But make sure you clean your foundation brush/beauty blender every single day-if you apply makeup daily)
p.s. Not gonna deny, I don’t clean them sometimes, Im just lazy. I know we’re all lazy! Lol!

What do we need?

These are the steps that I follow to clean my makeup brushes:

STEP 1: Firstly, wet all your makeup brushes and squirt some dish washing liquid on a plate, remember, a little bit of it goes a long way. Now, dip your brush on the liquid and start to rub the brush gently on the palm of your hand in swirling motion.

STEP 2: Then use the same technique on the silicone face scrublet. The bumpiness on the scrublet will create friction and scrubs away all the impurities that are stuck in your brushes and cleanses the brush thoroughly. Don’t be too harsh as it will ruin the shape of your brushes.

STEP 3: Now, rinse your brushes under running water until the water runs clear. Gently squeeze the bristles to remove any excess water.

STEP 4: By now, your brushes would be stiff and frizzy. So, that’s why we need to condition it. Massage in some hair conditioner in your brushes and let it sit for a minute, then rinse it out.

STEP 5: Squeeze the excess water and gently pat dry your brush on a clean paper tower and dry it.

*Tips!! The Best Way to Dry your Makeup Brushes:

Hang your brushes upside down (bristles facing the floor) and dry it indoor. The image shown above shows the effortless way to hang the brushes using rubber bands.

Do You know?
Drying your brushes upright, causes the water to run down and gets inside of the ferrule and weaken the glue that holds your brushes together, which leads to more shedding in future.

Voila!! Look at these clean brushes! Isn’t it easy to clean them? :)

Thank you for reading!

I hope these methods, helped some of you..

REVIEW: e.l.f MINERAL INFUSED FACE PRIMER (clear)

Today I’m going to review on a face primer that I have been using for about 5 months. Now, many of us think that we don’t need a face primer in our foundation routine, but gurrllll, it’s so important that you’ll never skip this step again!

Primer is used as a layer between your skin and foundation which provides the base necessary to create the appearance of perfect skin at any age. You will see massive changes as it will seal your pores, and helps to achieve a flawless face. It also gives such an alluring appearance, as it’s hard to go without using one after you get used to it. Yup, it’s true!

Too much of explanation huh? Lol! So, let’s move on to learn more about this product.

Brand & Product: ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer

Quantity: 0.49 oz (14 gm)

Price: Around RM35 (I got mine for USD 6)

Available atiHerb or Beauty Essense

Appearance: Decent packaging. It comes in a sleek matte bottle with a pump on top. The primer that I got, is clear and has a gel like formula with velvety texture. And the smell, hmmm... (I’m bad in describing it) it has a mild chemical smell but bearable still. They have it in 3 other types, which is Tone Adjusting Green, Brightening Lavender and Radiant Glow.

The pictures above, shows you the amount of primers comes out for a single pump, swatches of it and how it looks like after nicely blended.

What it says: Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, DimethiconeDimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Phenoxyethanol May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Tin Oxide (CI 77861)

Directions: Apply to clear skin prior to makeup application. Use a small amount and blend evenly all over the face for a smooth and flawless base. For best results, you may need to pump the component several times before product dispenses.

My Experience: This primer does its job more than it should for its price. Really. I will use a pea-sized amount of the primer for my whole face, and it instantly blurs a little bit of my large pores around my nose. It also gives a smooth feel to my skin which makes my foundation glide on the skin amazingly without leaving streaks or turning it cakey.

The foundation that I use, stays on my face for about 6 to 7 hours but if I use this primer, it adds on to its staying power for at least 2 hours. And, it doesn't cause break out on my skin! Well, if you guys do not know, my skin is extremely sensitive. So, this is definitely a plus!!

Pros:
  • Light weight
  • High-end packaging
  • Provides smoother application for foundation
  • Instantly blurs the appearance of large pores
  • Adds staying power of the foundation
  • Doesn’t cause breakouts
  • Non sticky formula
  • Affordable price
  •

Cons:
  • Not a pleasant smell
  • Doesn’t fill my pores completely

Will I repurchase? : Yes! But, since I have tried this primer, I might want to try out other primer available in market.
